The renovation of the Balatonfenyves railway station is being carried out by the HOMLOK Group. The construction started in the spring of 2023 and is expected to be completed this year, in December, – it was announced at the project launch press conference held on April 19, 2023.
During the project, the railway building in Balatonfenyves will be completely renewed and the lobby will also be reconstructed. To improve the quality of the journey and the safety of passengers, the platform alongside Track I will be made barrier-free.
As part of the project, in addition to the exterior reconstruction, the interior of the building will also be renovated: the passenger lounge will be renewed and modern building services and electrical systems will be built.
During the reconstruction works of the station lobby, accessible parking, bicycle storage and a modern passenger information system will be built. The related environmental works will include a direct stairway to the platform and a new pavement connection to the fenyvesi railway.
Construction work on the SK-55-centimetre platform is well under progress, as it must be completed in time for the start of the summer rush hour.
The project was implemented with the investment of the Ministry of Construction and Transport.
The project is being implemented by Homlok Építőipari Ltd., using EU funds and with the support of the Hungarian State, within the tender frame of the Integrated Transport Development Operational Programme.
